At SXSW, Instagram founder Kevin Systrom told audiences that the Android version of the popular photo-centric social network was on its way. We’re still waiting to find when the Android version will be available, but now Google users can sign up to be “first in line” to get their hands on the new app.
It’s vague on whether those who sign up will receive a beta version before the 1.0 release hits the Android Marketplace (err Google Play), or simply receive advanced notification of the release.
While Systrom said “It’s one of the most amazing Android apps you’ll ever see… in some ways, it’s better than our iPhone app,” we still know very little about it.
If you’re eager to join the community of 27 million iOS users already enjoying the app, head over to the sign up page.
