Michael K. Williams, the actor who has potrayed Omar Little in The Wire and Chalky White in Boardwalk Empire, will be bringing his trademark swagger to the craziest, dirtiest Wu-Tang member: The Ol’ Dirty Bastard, aka Dirt Dog aka Dirt McGirt aka Osiris, aka Sweet Baby Jesus aka Russell Jones.
In the upcoming biopic Dirty White Boy, Williams will portray the legend. Based on a true story, Dirty White Boy follows Ol’ Dirty through the eyes of his white, 22-year old VH1 intern-cum-manager, going from misadventure to misadventure up to the ODB’s untimely death.
The producers, Lars Knudsen and Jay Van Hoy, describe the film as “Risky Business meets 8 Mile.” Directing the piece is Joaquin Baca-Asay, cinematographer for such films as We Own the Night and Super Troopers. He also won a VMA for his work on Jay Z’s “99 Problems” music video.
