Watch: 13-Minute ‘The Dark Night Rises’ Behind-the-Scenes Featurette

Spoilers. So many spoilers. Watch at risk of knowing too much about the upcoming film.

“We looked back to the silent era of motion pictures when the image was paramount, when all you had was the scope and scale of the location. That’s the kind of storytelling I was interested in exploring,” says Christopher Nolan of The Dark Knight Rises. The third installment of the Dark Knight Batman trilogy, playing in theatres July 20, is exposed in a featurette released by Warner Brothers.

The featurette contains new footage from the film; behind-the-scenes visuals; and conversations with the actors, producers, and executives. Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, and Marion Cottilard all appear, give details about their characters, and how they assumed their roles for the film. Stills from the film and set abound, including a good number of Christopher Nolan looking moody on location. For Batman superfans, this is a welcome addition to the pre-release hype.
