Watch: Barack Obama and Jimmy Kimmel at the Correspondent’s Dinner

Last night was the annual White House Correspondent’s Association Dinner, an annual schmooze-fest between members of the media and the US government’s executive branch. It involves a speech by the President, mocking himself, the press, and current events; followed by a performance by a prominent entertainer. This year Jimmy Kimmel came to the White House, the video of his performance and the President’s below. Watch for jokes about dog-eating, legalized marijuana, and swipes at Kim Kardashian.

The President began, joking about the fact the has to open for a person whose main demographic are the people that fall asleep watching Nightline.

Jimmy Kimmel started by greeting President Obama with “salaam.”

And here’s part one of Stephen Colbert’s impossibly funny 2006 roast of George Bush, which in my opinion is among the greatest moments of parody in the 21st century.

Thonis, the legendary port city that served as an entryway to the Egyptian empire, was long considered to be a myth. The tales of its immense power and vast riches conflicted with the evidence of its existence—mainly that there was none. Cities of such grandeur do not typically disappear off the face of the earth. [...]

Kanye West says the darndest things. On his unrelenting quest to become his own species of hip-hop artist, he has established a reputation as irreverent, controversial, and unapologetic. Though he makes time for public grandstanding by claiming a US President “doesn’t care about black people” or interrupting the VMAs, he remains mostly quiet when it [...]

For every dollar it raises, a mere 3 cents goes [...]
